Postcards from Flaresville

Dear reader,

It’s summertime, the world is melting, resting up collective is on vacation - and you’re invited!

Our destination is Flaresville, a happening beach resort with all the painkillers you desire in the brightest of colours, mobility aids at every turn, heat pads and ice packs, wheelchair friendly paths to the seafront, and, best of all, no one to ask if you’ve tried yoga yet.

Flaresville is a resort that welcomes all folks who are too tired to paste a smiling face onto pain, those in search of a new sick pal to say I hear you, that sucks, and people who want a slice of sunshine in the mail.

The first 30 guests have already checked in and have started sharing experiences of pain flares, dreams, and thoughts through a mail-based chain of care. Once this slow-burn summer project draws to a close, resting up plans to invite more holidaymakers to Flaresville - maybe a winter ski chalet? - and expand our ways of caring with/for each other through slowness and interconnectivity. Stay tuned for future updates via our Instagram - we’ve reserved you a sunlounger.

But, for now, grab yourself a cool beverage and scroll down to reminisce about that resort we all know and just can’t quit coming back to.

A white page against a pink background featuring an abstract line drawing of a person and a brown patterned square of paper.

A purple page against a pale blue background featuring a handwritten note in black ink with pink decorations around the edge. There is a pressed flower on the page.
